Applications are now open for the PCRBIO Research Grant 2025, offering $10,000 worth of PCR reagents to support innovative scientific research across a wide range of biological disciplines — including human health, microbiology, plant sciences, environmental sustainability, and any research area requiring extensive PCR use.
Application Deadline: 30th November 2025
Results Announcement & Funding Start: January 2026
About the Grant
The PCRBIO Research Grant aims to empower researchers by providing essential reagents and expert technical support to advance their PCR-based experiments. This opportunity is ideal for PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and academic scientists seeking additional resources to expand their laboratory capabilities.
Funding Breakdown
-
Main Award: $6,000 worth of PCR reagents (distributed over 3 years)
-
Four Runner-Up Prizes: $1,000 of PCR reagents each
-
Technical Support: Direct access to PCR Biosystems experts for all PCR-related queries
Applications will be accepted from September to 30th November 2025.
Winners will be announced in January 2026, and funding will commence immediately after.
Note: This grant is open only to researchers based in the United States.
Eligibility Criteria
This grant is open to full-time academic researchers of all levels, including:
-
PhD candidates
-
Post-doctoral researchers
-
Principal investigators
-
Lab technicians and lab managers
Applicants must be affiliated with US academic institutions.
Teams from the same laboratory are encouraged to submit a joint application describing all PCR work performed within their lab, instead of individual submissions.
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
-
Expected impact on the field of study
-
Broader social, medical, or environmental relevance
-
Innovation and novelty
-
Clarity and completeness of proposal
-
Realistic justification for the requested number of PCR reactions
A shortlist will be reviewed by a panel of internal and external research experts.
Terms and Conditions
Grant Administration
Grants will be made out to the hosting laboratory, not to individual researchers. If a recipient relocates before the full grant amount is used, the remaining funds will stay with the original host lab.
All awards are provided as credit with PCR Biosystems.
Award Confirmation
Successful applicants will receive an email notification following the evaluation process.
Funds will only be released once recipients:
-
Confirm receipt of the award email,
-
Submit any required additional information, and
-
Provide a headshot photograph for promotional use.
Failure to complete these steps within two weeks of notification will result in forfeiture of the grant, which will then be offered to the next highest-scoring applicant.
Supervisor Approval
By submitting an application, candidates certify that they have obtained all necessary permissions from their academic supervisor or department to process this grant. It is the applicant’s responsibility to secure these permissions prior to submission.
Eligible Products
The grant covers all PCR Biosystems reagents, excluding dNTPs and DNA markers. Exceptions can be made when a reasonable amount of these products is ordered alongside an enzyme, subject to approval from a PCR Biosystems account manager.
Funding Period and Usage
Funding will commence in January 2026.
Recipients can place orders up to the total awarded value at any time until December 31, 2029, or until the funds are exhausted — whichever comes first.
Reagent costs will be deducted from the grant based on PCR Biosystems’ list prices.
Evaluation and Judging
Applications will be reviewed by an internal team of PCR experts, and a shortlist will be further evaluated by a mixed panel of internal and external research professionals.
PCR Biosystems reserves the right to exclude any application at its sole discretion and without explanation.
Restrictions
-
Only one application per individual will be accepted.
-
Only one grant per research group will be awarded.
-
Multiple submissions from the same applicant or lab will not be considered.
Publicity and Acknowledgement
Grant recipients consent to having their name, photo, and institution published on PCR Biosystems’ website, social media, and promotional materials.
Recipients agree to share at least one piece of content (e.g., lab photo, data image, video, or testimonial) for promotional purposes.
The main award winner ($6,000) must share one such content piece per year throughout the grant duration.
All research outputs that include data generated using PCR Biosystems reagents acquired through this grant must acknowledge PCR Biosystems funding.
Data Protection
Personal information collected during the application process will be used solely for grant administration and handled in accordance with the PCR Biosystems Privacy Policy.
