The EarthRights International School (ERS) 2026 is now open for applications. This unique training programme runs from May to November 2026 and is targeted at community-based advocates from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam who are working on environmental and human rights issues in their communities. About the Programme
Located in the Mekong Region, the EarthRights School equips grassroots and community leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to challenge the impacts of large-scale development projects such as hydropower dams, mining and special economic zones. The course combines practical fieldwork, legal advocacy, storytelling and campaign planning to help participants return to their communities ready to engage in decision-making and environmental protection. The programme spans 7½ months and provides intensive in-person training, field practicum, and network building:

Who Should Apply?
The EarthRights School 2026 is designed for individuals who:

Are working with or come from communities directly impacted by large-scale development in the Mekong Region.

Have approximately 2–3 years of field experience in activism, advocacy, organising, research or legal work.

Are committed to returning to their organisation or community to apply new skills.

Have sufficient English ability to engage in training and peer learning.

Are open to communal and in-person living, respectful of diversity and inclusive learning environments.
