What You\u2019ll Experience as a Capital Fellow<\/h3>\n

Capital Fellows serve as full-time, paid employees for 10-11 months in some of the highest levels of state government. Whether placed in the Legislative, Executive, or Judicial Branch, Fellows work closely with state legislators, senior-level executive staff, and court administrators on critical public policy issues. Fellows are given challenging and meaningful assignments, allowing them to make a real impact on the governance of California.<\/p>\n

Available Fellowship Programs<\/h3>\n

Judicial Fellowship Program<\/strong>
\nThis 10-month fellowship offers experiential learning in court administration. Judicial Fellows work in Superior Courts and Judicial Council offices across California, gaining firsthand experience in managing court programs, multi-million-dollar budgets, and public policy, while promoting access to justice.<\/p>\n

Executive Fellowship Program<\/strong>
\nExecutive Fellows are placed in one of California\u2019s Executive Branch offices, including the Governor\u2019s Office and other constitutional and cabinet-level agencies. This 10-month fellowship provides a blend of government work experience and professional development, preparing participants for leadership roles in public service.<\/p>\n

Assembly Fellowship Program<\/strong>
\nFounded in 1957, the Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country. Assembly Fellows serve as full-time legislative staff, working in the office of an Assembly Member to shape public policy and contribute to the legislative process.<\/p>\n

Senate Fellowship Program<\/strong>
\nSenate Fellows work as policy staff in the office of a California State Senator or within a Senate policy committee. This distinguished program offers Fellows the chance to directly participate in the state legislative process, gaining deep insights into the development of laws and policies.<\/p>\n
