Every year, we offer approximately 100 paid traineeship positions, providing invaluable experiences and opportunities for growth.<\/p>\n<h3>Traineeship Programmes<\/h3>\n<p>We offer two main traineeship programmes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Regular Traineeships<\/strong>: These are five-month paid traineeships in Brussels, offered twice a year:\n<ul>\n<li>First Period: 16 February to 15 July<\/li>\n<li>Second Period: 1 September to 31 January<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Traineeships for Students of National Administration Schools<\/strong>: Specifically designed for students of national administration schools.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Who Can Apply?<\/h3>\n<p>We welcome applications from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EU citizens<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Education<\/strong>: Main programme applicants should possess a university degree, while positive action programme candidates should be at least third-year university\/college students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Profile<\/strong>: We value diversity and welcome candidates from various backgrounds, as we offer traineeships in different areas such as policy, administration, communication, and IT.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Languages<\/strong>: Proficiency in English or French (at least level C1) is required, along with very good knowledge of at least two EU official languages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Experience<\/strong>: No previous training or employment for more than six weeks at an EU institution, body, agency, or office.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Age<\/strong>: There is no age limit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates for the positive action programme will need to provide a certificate confirming their disability.<\/p>\n<h3>What We Offer<\/h3>\n<p>Our trainees enjoy a range of benefits, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monthly grant<\/strong> of \u20ac1,376.88 net<\/li>\n<li><strong>2 days of leave<\/strong> per month worked<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u20ac60 monthly allowance<\/strong> for use in the Council\u2019s restaurants<\/li>\n<li><strong>Travel allowance<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Additional benefits such as accident insurance, partial reimbursement for health insurance, access to the Council gym, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p>Applications are accepted twice a year, in February for traineeships starting in September and in September for traineeships starting in February of the following year.<\/p>\n<h3>Send your application<\/h3>\n<p>The application period for the February 2026 traineeship\u00a0<strong>is open\u00a0<\/strong>until 24 September 2025, noon (Brussels time).<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gsc-link-list  gsc-u-list-unstyled\" data-block-flow-sm=\"\">\n<li><a class=\"gsc-link pa-external-link-click gsc-btn gsc-btn--primary\" href=\"https:\/\/consilium.gestmax.eu\/search\">Apply now<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What&#8217;s in it for You?<\/h3>\n<p>A traineeship at the Council offers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First-hand experience of the Council\u2019s work<\/li>\n<li>Insight into EU institutions&#8217; processes and policies<\/li>\n<li>Contribution to the Council\u2019s day-to-day operations<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to a diverse work environment<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to share your fresh perspective and academic knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Testimonials from Former Trainees<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s what some of our former trainees have to say about their experiences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Filippo, Agriculture, Fisheries, Social Affairs, and Health (LIFE)<\/em>: &#8220;The traineeship has allowed me to get first-hand experience of the European policy-making process.
