This flagship initiative provides recent graduates across West Africa with a unique opportunity to gain professional experience, enhance employability, and actively contribute to regional development.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"533\">Background and Context<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"844\">Youth unemployment and underemployment remain pressing challenges in West Africa, despite rising levels of academic achievement. Many young graduates face difficulties securing jobs due to limited work experience, mismatches between education and labor market needs, and insufficient career support systems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"846\" data-end=\"1200\">To bridge this gap, ECOWAS established the <strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"925\">Professional Immersion Programme<\/strong>, enabling young graduates to gain hands-on experience in ECOWAS institutions, agencies, and resident representations. This program not only builds professional capacity but also strengthens regional integration and promotes the mobility of skills within the ECOWAS region.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1238\">Main Objective of the Programme<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1349\">The <strong data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1265\">overall objective<\/strong> is to foster professional integration and employability among young graduates by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1581\">\n<li data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1421\">\n<p data-start=\"1352\" data-end=\"1421\">Providing real work experience in ECOWAS institutions and agencies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1511\">\n<p data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1511\">Promoting a deeper understanding of ECOWAS operations, policies, and regional issues.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1581\">\n<p data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1581\">Contributing to more effective implementation of ECOWAS programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1583\" data-end=\"1607\">Specific Objectives<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1609\" data-end=\"1634\">The programme seeks to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1897\">\n<li data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1730\">\n<p data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1730\">Offer young graduates the chance to immerse themselves in ECOWAS institutions and agencies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1816\">\n<p data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1816\">Create a framework for graduates to actively contribute to major ECOWAS programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1817\" data-end=\"1897\">\n<p data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1897\">Provide financial empowerment through a modest stipend during the immersion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1920\">Expected Results<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1922\" data-end=\"1952\">By the end of the programme:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"2175\">\n<li data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"2023\">\n<p data-start=\"1955\" data-end=\"2023\">Young graduates will have gained relevant professional experience.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2024\" data-end=\"2103\">\n<p data-start=\"2026\" data-end=\"2103\">They will have directly contributed to the execution of ECOWAS initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2175\">\n<p data-start=\"2106\" data-end=\"2175\">They will be better positioned for future employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"2177\" data-end=\"2202\">Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2254\">Applicants must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2774\">\n<li data-start=\"2255\" data-end=\"2422\">\n<p data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2422\">Be a national of an ECOWAS Member State: <strong data-start=\"2298\" data-end=\"2420\">Benin, Cabo Verde, C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2423\" data-end=\"2489\">\n<p data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2489\">Be between <strong data-start=\"2436\" data-end=\"2459\">18 and 32 years old<\/strong> at the time of application.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2490\" data-end=\"2572\">\n<p data-start=\"2492\" data-end=\"2572\">Hold at least a <strong data-start=\"2508\" data-end=\"2553\">Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s, or Doctorate degree<\/strong> (or equivalent).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li
