Our fellowship program offers temporary academic positions at universities and higher education institutions worldwide, allowing scholars to continue their academic work in safety.<\/p>\n<h2>Application Process &amp; Deadlines<\/h2>\n<p><strong>No Application Deadline<\/strong> &#8211; IIE-SRF accepts new applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Fellowships are awarded quarterly, providing flexibility for scholars in urgent situations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Note<\/strong>: IIE-SRF typically cannot consider new applications from individuals whose original applications were previously declined.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Can Apply<\/h2>\n<h3>Eligible Applicants:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Professors, researchers, and public intellectuals<\/strong> from any country, field, or discipline<\/li>\n<li>Individuals who are <strong>underrepresented in their fields<\/strong> (applications especially encouraged)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Successful Applicants Typically Have:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>Ph.D. or other highest degree<\/strong> in their field<\/li>\n<li><strong>Teaching and\/or research experience<\/strong> at a university or other institution of higher learning<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>established record of published research<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Are <strong>facing or have recently fled from direct and immediate threats<\/strong> to their lives and\/or careers in their home countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who Cannot Apply<\/h2>\n<p>Unfortunately, IIE-SRF cannot consider applications from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Previous declined applicants<\/strong> to IIE-SRF<\/li>\n<li><strong>Students or professionals<\/strong> seeking to pursue academic studies, including Ph.D. study<\/li>\n<li><strong>Individuals displaced for more than two years<\/strong> or who have resided outside their home country for more than two years<\/li>\n<li><strong>Individuals with citizenship or permanent status<\/strong> in a safe second country<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applicants seeking support due to lack of resources<\/strong> or funds for research at their home institution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fellowship Benefits<\/h2>\n<h3>Financial Support:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to <strong>$25,000 for a one-year appointment<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Individual <strong>health insurance coverage<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Relocation funding<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Professional development and advising resources<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Additional Support:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Dedicated support from IIE-SRF and partner institutions<\/li>\n<li>Support provided before, during, and after the fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Host institutions typically contribute additional salary\/stipend support, housing, and other assistance<\/li>\n<li><strong>Most fellowships are renewable for a second year<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Program Impact<\/h2>\n<p>Since IIE-SRF&#8217;s founding in 2002:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1,100+ scholars<\/strong> supported from <strong>62 countries<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Partnerships with <strong>500+ institutions<\/strong> in <strong>59 countries<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ongoing commitment to protecting scholarly voices and ideas globally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Requirements &amp; Process<\/h2>\n<h3>Important Guidelines:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>AI tools discouraged<\/strong>: IIE-SRF strongly discourages the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT during the application process.
