This prestigious Erasmus Mundus Master\u2019s Degree offers future water and environmental professionals the opportunity to study in three world-leading universities, gaining expertise in sustainable groundwater management, hydrology, and climate adaptation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"1046\">The <strong data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"868\">application portal opens on 1 October 2025<\/strong>, with the <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"952\">Erasmus Mundus scholarship deadline set for January and February 2026<\/strong>, depending on the applicant\u2019s country category. The programme focuses on understanding groundwater processes, assessing environmental impacts, and developing adaptation strategies that contribute to global sustainability goals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1739\">Designed for graduates with a strong interest in environmental science, hydrology, or engineering, GroundwatCH brings together top academic institutions and industry experts to deliver a truly international and applied learning experience.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1744\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"1798\">Study Across Three Leading European Universities<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1800\" data-end=\"1938\">The programme spans <strong data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1850\">four semesters (two years)<\/strong> and is structured to combine theory, research, and professional exposure across Europe:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"3072\">\n<li data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"2203\">\n<p data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"2203\"><strong data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1999\">1st Semester: Lisbon, Portugal (September \u2013 February)<\/strong><br data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2002\" \/>Students begin at <strong data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2058\">Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico (IST)<\/strong>, Portugal\u2019s leading engineering school. The semester provides a foundation in environmental engineering, hydrology, and climate-related systems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2529\">\n<p data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2529\"><strong data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2262\">2nd Semester: Delft, The Netherlands (March \u2013 July)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2262\" data-end=\"2265\" \/>The next phase takes place at <strong data-start=\"2297\" data-end=\"2340\">IHE Delft Institute for Water Education<\/strong>, the world\u2019s largest graduate water education institute. Participants engage in advanced water management, data analysis, and field-based learning with exposure to real-world case studies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2531\" data-end=\"2852\">\n<p data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2852\"><strong data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2590\">3rd Semester: Dresden, Germany (September \u2013 February)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2593\" \/>Hosted at <strong data-start=\"2605\" data-end=\"2619\">TU Dresden<\/strong>, one of Germany\u2019s top technical universities, this semester focuses on climate science, hydrology, and water resource engineering. Students integrate scientific, environmental, and technical knowledge to design adaptation solutions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2854\" data-end=\"3072\">\n<p data-start=\"2856\" data-end=\"3072\"><strong data-start=\"2856\" data-end=\"2910\">4th Semester: Thesis and Research (March \u2013 August)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2910\" data-end=\"2913\" \/>Students complete a master\u2019s thesis at one of the three partner universities or through collaboration with an industry, research, or public-sector partner.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3074\" data-end=\"3269\">Upon graduation, participants receive <strong data-start=\"3112\" data-end=\"3138\">three master\u2019s degrees<\/strong> jointly awarded by IHE Delft, TU Dresden, and Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico \u2014 fully accredited and mutually recognized across Europe.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3271\" data-end=\"3274\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"3276\" data-end=\"3307\">Erasmus Mundus Scholarships<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3309\" data-end=\"3496\">A limited number of <strong data-start=\"3329\" data-end=\"3380\">Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarships<\/strong> are available for the 2026\u20132028 intake. Additionally, candidates must answer five motivation questions focused on their career goals and interest in groundwater management.
