The American Political Science Association (APSA)<\/strong> invites applications for the 2026\u20132027 APSA Congressional Fellowship Program<\/strong>, one of the United States\u2019 most prestigious opportunities for professionals to gain first-hand experience in the legislative process on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n

This ten-month program provides political scientists, journalists, and communications scholars the unique chance to work directly in congressional offices \u2014 engaging in legislative drafting, policy research, hearings, and daily operations alongside Members of Congress and their staff.<\/p>\n

The APSA Congressional Fellowship is a fully immersive, professional development program<\/strong> that helps participants bridge the gap between policy research and practice. Fellows gain invaluable exposure to the U.S. Congress while advancing their academic or professional work through experiential learning.<\/p>\n

Each fellowship year begins in November<\/strong> with a one-month intensive orientation<\/strong> on Congress, led by scholars, policymakers, and practitioners. This foundational training covers the structure, operations, and political dynamics of the U.S. legislative system.<\/p>\n

Afterward, fellows are placed in congressional offices of their choice<\/strong>, where they work full-time for nine months, engaging in legislative research, constituent relations, and committee work.
