This prestigious programme brings together early- to mid-career professionals from Africa and Europe who are passionate about <strong>sustainable development and good governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline:<\/strong> 9 November 2025<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>About the Academy<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Shaping Futures Academy<\/strong> offers a unique learning experience designed to strengthen leadership and policy skills for sustainable development. The 2026 edition will take place <strong>between April and October 2026<\/strong>, combining <strong>online and in-person learning modules<\/strong> across Europe and Africa.<\/p>\n<h4>Programme Structure<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Online Modules (April, September &amp; October 2026)<\/strong><br \/>\nConducted part-time with approximately three hours of peer learning per day. Participants will engage in a mix of plenary discussions, group sessions, and self-paced learning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>In-Person Module (May\u2013July 2026, Bonn, Germany)<\/strong><br \/>\nHosted at IDOS in Bonn and co-organised with CDD-Ghana. The phase includes two leadership and two academic modules (one facilitated by CDD-Ghana), concluding with <strong>study trips to Berlin and Brussels<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants will gain knowledge from a broad range of perspectives, connect with peers across continents, and explore innovative approaches to sustainability and governance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Applications are welcome from <strong>early to mid-career professionals (ages 25\u201340)<\/strong> who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are <strong>nationals or permanent residents<\/strong> of eligible countries<\/li>\n<li>Work on issues related to <strong>sustainable development and governance<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Have <strong>at least three years of professional experience<\/strong> (voluntary or paid)<\/li>\n<li>Possess <strong>strong English skills (B2 CEFR or above)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Have <strong>support from their employer<\/strong> (documented in the application)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate openness to intercultural collaboration and teamwork<\/li>\n<li>Can participate for the full duration of the Academy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligible countries:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Africa:<\/strong> Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Tunisia, Zambia<\/li>\n<li><strong>Europe:<\/strong> EU member states, EEA countries, and the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><em>Note:<\/em> The 2026 cohort is limited to the countries listed above.
