In the 2025\/2026 academic year, the University of Trento (UniTrento)<\/strong> has introduced a new Reception and Training Project<\/strong> designed for international students from conflict zones<\/strong>. This initiative provides a pathway for young people whose education has been interrupted by war, instability, or danger to continue their academic journey in a safe environment.<\/p>\n The program targets individuals living outside Italy who cannot begin or continue university studies in their home countries due to conflict or insecurity.<\/p>\n A maximum of ten international students will be selected to participate in a one-year Foundation Year<\/strong> at the University of Trento.<\/p>\n During the Foundation Year, students will:<\/p>\n Attend individual university courses<\/strong> and preparatory classes<\/strong> for potential enrollment in degree programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Take Italian and English language courses<\/strong> offered by the University Language Centre.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Receive training in computer skills<\/strong> and other academic competencies needed for university success.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n After completing the Foundation Year, students may apply for Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree programs<\/strong> at UniTrento for the 2026\/27 academic year, subject to meeting the necessary admission requirements.<\/p>\n Each selected student will benefit from a comprehensive financial and support package, including:<\/p>\n A scholarship of \u20ac7,200<\/strong>, paid in two installments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Full tuition waiver<\/strong> for all courses during the Foundation Year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Free accommodation<\/strong> in shared student housing provided by Opera Universitaria di Trento.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Two free meals per day<\/strong> at university cafeterias.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Free annual transportation pass<\/strong> for local and regional travel in the Trento area.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Coverage of travel expenses<\/strong> from the student\u2019s home country to Trento.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Health insurance<\/strong> or registration in the Italian National Health Service.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Academic tutoring, psychological, and legal support services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Access to sports, cultural, and integration activities<\/strong> organized by the university and local associations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The call for applications<\/strong> for the 2025\u20132026 academic year is open until 20 November 2025 at 12:00 (CET)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Applications must be submitted online through the official UniTrento portal: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:<\/p>\n Be a citizen of a non-EU country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Reside outside Italy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Come from a conflict-affected area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Be currently unable to pursue university studies safely due to conflict or instability.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Have completed at least 12 years of schooling<\/strong> or hold a qualification that allows access to higher education in Italy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Required documents include:<\/p>\n A copy of an identity document<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Proof of secondary or higher education.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A letter of motivation<\/strong> describing personal circumstances and reasons for applying.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Optional: Language certificates, CV, or other academic qualifications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Applicants who cannot provide complete documentation due to conflict must complete the official Study History Form<\/strong>, available on the UniTrento website.<\/p>\n Download the Study History Form (PDF, 161 KB)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Download the Full Call for Applications 2025\u201326 (PDF, 223 KB)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The selection process consists of two stages:<\/p>\n Document evaluation<\/strong> \u2013 Applications will be reviewed to confirm eligibility and assess academic background, motivation, and risk level.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Interview (if required)<\/strong> \u2013 Shortlisted candidates may be invited to an online interview for further assessment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n Final results will be published on the UniTrento \u201cStudents at Risk\u201d webpage<\/a>.
