The studentships are open to both <strong data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"424\">UK and international students<\/strong> and are awarded based on outstanding academic potential. These studentships are for those wishing to pursue a <strong data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"575\">full-time or part-time PhD programme<\/strong> starting in <strong data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"606\">September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"764\">The awards will be made in <strong data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"655\">mid-March 2026<\/strong>, with funding provided for up to <strong data-start=\"689\" data-end=\"725\">three and a half years full-time<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"763\">six and a half years part-time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"766\" data-end=\"769\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"771\" data-end=\"789\"><strong data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"789\">Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"889\">To be considered for a Doctoral Research Studentship, applicants must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"1526\">\n<li data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"1075\">\n<p data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"1075\"><strong data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"919\">Academic Qualification<\/strong>: Applicants must hold (or expect to hold by the end of the 2025-26 academic year) a <strong data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1023\">master\u2019s degree<\/strong> or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1526\">\n<p data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1263\"><strong data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1095\">PhD Programme<\/strong>: The studentships are available for full-time or part-time PhD programmes in one of the following areas within the <strong data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1262\">Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1526\">\n<li data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1333\">\n<p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1333\">School of the Arts (English, Drama, Languages, Linguistics, Film)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1371\">\n<p data-start=\"1338\" data-end=\"1371\">School of Business and Management<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1407\">\n<p data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1407\">School of Economics and Finance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1432\">\n<p data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1432\">School of Law (CCLS)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1526\">\n<p data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1526\">School of Society and Environment (Geography, History, Politics, International Relations)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1531\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1533\" data-end=\"1555\"><strong data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1555\">Funding Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1580\">The studentships cover:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<li data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1605\">\n<p data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1605\"><strong data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1605\">Full tuition fees<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<p data-start=\"1608\" data-end=\"1649\"><strong data-start=\"1608\" data-end=\"1631\">Maintenance stipend<\/strong> at the QMUL rate:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<li data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1687\">\n<p data-start=\"1654\" data-end=\"1687\"><strong data-start=\"1654\" data-end=\"1675\">\u00a321,874 per annum<\/strong> (full-time)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1690\" data-end=\"1725\">\n<p data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1725\"><strong data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1713\">\u00a310,937 per annum<\/strong> (part-time)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1841\">The studentships are tenable for up to <strong data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1802\">three and a half years full-time<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"1840\">six and a half years part-time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"1846\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1890\"><strong data-start=\"1851\" data-end=\"1890\">BAME Studentships for UK Applicants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1892\" data-end=\"2246\">For the 2026-27 academic year, QMUL is offering a <strong data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1979\">fully funded doctoral studentship<\/strong> specifically for a UK applicant from a <strong data-start=\"2019\" data-end=\"2063\">BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic)<\/strong> background. This studentship covers both <strong data-start=\"2105\" data-end=\"2137\">tuition fees and the stipend<\/strong> at the QMUL rate and is aimed at improving the representation of BAME candidates in
